EDUCATION PROGRAMS To schedule an education program for your group or school please call us at 540-837-9000 Our programs: Hunter from Above Learn about hawks, eagles, owls, and falcons through a live bird of prey presentation. Our wildlife rehabilitator will discuss bird of prey adaptations, predator/prey relationships, specific characteristics of these magnificent birds and their natural history. Also covered will be the personal histories of the birds of prey presented and how we rehabilitate injured and orphaned birds of prey. It's Cleanup Time Learn about the important role that animal scavengers play in cleaning up our environment. Our wildlife rehabilitator will introduce our native vultures, opossum, and other amazing animal scavengers through live animal and slide presentations. Critters and Creatures of Virginia This program provides an entertaining look at the animal life of our state. It includes the habits, habitats, diets, and interesting stories about our native wildlife. Our wildlife rehabilitator will also present information on how we rehabilitate injured and orphaned animals, and will be assisted by a couple of our animals ambassadors. ![]() Rudy, our red tailed hawk |
Our Wildlife Ambassadors These are animals that could not be rehabilitated and released back into the wild due to the extent of their injuries. Instead they have stayed at our center to act as wildlife ambassadors who teach the importance of preserving wildlife and wildlife habitat.
